June 28th

in my youth, i spent many a sunday afternoon at the k.p. corral country line dancing with my aunt suzanne. for those of you who don’t know, the k.p. corral was king of prussia’s hottest country dance club, and on sunday, it was all ages. i think i was around 10 years old when suzanne started bringing my and my sisters to dance with her. for a cover charge of around $5, it was all-you-can-drink sodas (i always ordered a club soda with a splash of cranberry and a splash of OJ. this was before i met vodka, obvi.) and they had a buffet of chips, veggies, and tomato pie (cheese-less, cold pizza—sounds gross, but is soooo good). we boot scooted, barn danced, and did the watermelon crawl with the best of ‘em. but thank god this chick wasn’t one of the instructors at the corral, because her crazy-eyed stare has me convinced she eats 10 year olds who mess up the steps.
